Role overview
Provide one-to-one educational, behavioural, and social support to a student with additional learning needs.
Work with classroom teachers, the SEN team, and parents to support academic progress and overall development.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support during classroom activities and school routines.
- Communicate with the student in Arabic and English; help them understand lessons, instructions, and classroom tasks.
- Support communication, social, and behavioural skills; implement individualised learning and behavioural strategies.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive classroom participation; monitor and document progress.
- Collaborate with teachers, SEN specialists, and parents, and ensure the student's safety, well-being, and inclusion.
Requirements and qualifications
- Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory.
- Experience supporting students with additional learning needs and knowledge of SEN strategies and behaviour management techniques.
- A bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous Shadow Teacher or Learning Support Assistant experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; patient, empathetic, flexible, and proactive approach.
- Relevant SEN or inclusion training is an advantage.
