ServiceNow Administrator – Job Description (10+ Years Experience)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Administrator with 10+ years of IT experience and extensive expertise in administering, configuring, and maintaining the ServiceNow platform.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for platform governance, system administration, integrations, performance optimization, security compliance, and supporting enterprise-wide ServiceNow implementations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, and maintain the ServiceNow platform across multiple modules.
  • Manage platform upgrades, patches, releases, and instance cloning activities.
  • Configure users, groups, roles, ACLs, workflows, notifications, and service catalog items.
  • Monitor platform performance, availability, and system health to ensure optimal operations.
  • Manage Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, Service Catalog, and CMDB modules.
  • Perform platform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
  • Implement and maintain integrations with third-party applications using REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Ensure compliance with security, governance, and audit requirements.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, KPIs, and performance analytics.
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver platform enhancements.
  • Support ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, HRSD, and CSM modules as required.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational procedures.
  • Manage MID Servers, Discovery, Service Mapping, and CMDB health activities.
  • Provide platform administration support and mentor junior administrators.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of overall IT experience with 5+ years as a ServiceNow Administrator.
  • Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow Administration and Platform Management.
  • Expertise in ITSM, CMDB, Discovery, Service Catalog, Knowledge Management, and Change Management.
  • Experience managing ServiceNow upgrades, patching, cloning, and release management.
  • Strong understanding of ACLs, Roles, Groups, UI Policies, Business Rules, and Workflows.
  • Experience with REST APIs, SOAP integrations, LDAP, SSO, and Active Directory integrations.
  • Knowledge of MID Server administration and ServiceNow Discovery.
  • Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and system monitoring skills.
  • Experience working in enterprise-scale ServiceNow environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications are highly preferred.
  • Experience with ITOM, ITAM, HRSD, CSM, or SecOps modules.
  • Knowledge of scripting using JavaScript, Glide APIs, and Flow Designer.
  • Experience in Agile, ITIL, and DevOps environments.
