Senior Urban Design & Earthen Architecture Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Develop design plans to address technical problems posed by project scope; advise on planning, design, and implementation of urban design work.
• Review and revise master plans and design guidelines; help ensure deadlines are met and projects stay on schedule.
• Prepare presentations and reports and contribute to client presentations, client management, and satisfaction.
• Perform professional work across planning assignments, including complex planning studies, development applications, and consultant proposal reviews.
• Review project budgets, administer bidding, and verify contract expenditures and compliance.
• Conduct land-use research and prepare statistical reports; develop regional transportation plans, studies, and analyses.
• Conduct field inspections to gather development-review data or verify that projects comply with approved plans.
• Schedule and conduct meetings with advisory boards and elected officials.

Qualifications and skills

• Degree in Urban Design, Landscape Design, or a related field.
• At least 15 years of urban design experience on major infrastructure or rail construction projects.
• Ability to perform difficult and complex urban design activities.
• Excellent design, visualization, and graphic skills; strong coordination and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
• Rail, metro, or related project experience is desirable.
• Experience working on projects located in the Middle East is desirable.
