Senior Test Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Create test plans, cases, and scripts covering functional, performance, and usability aspects of the options trading platform.
• Log and report defects, collaborate with developers on resolution, and verify fixes.
• Build, maintain, and execute automated tests; improve automation efficiency and coverage.
• Work with product and engineering teams on feature planning, delivery quality, and regression prevention.
• Review test failures, maintain test documentation, and support on-call bug isolation and service restoration.
• Work with minimal technical supervision and keep current with engineering practices.

Required experience

• Hands-on options derivatives experience covering workflows, order types, and lifecycle management.
• FIX messaging expertise for order entry, execution, and drop-copy session handling.
• Linux command-line skills, including logs, file management, process monitoring, and scripting.
• Experience using SQL for test-data validation and database analysis.
• Testing expertise for complex trading systems, including functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end methods.
• Analytical problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective cross-functional communication.

Tools and preferred experience

• AI tools for test-case generation, log analysis, failure investigation, and defect triage.
• Familiarity with Jira or similar defect and project tracking tools.
• Other trading applications, production change support, UAT, and production debugging are preferred or a plus.
