As a Technical Sales Expert for Grid Automation within the SDCE team, you play a central role in driving the successful positioning and growth of Siemens Energy’s Digital Grid portfolio.
Your focus lies on Grid Automation solutions that enable reliable, efficient, and intelligent power system operations across transmission and distribution networks.
You work closely between regional sales teams, customers and DGs portfolio management, and engineering experts to convert grid operational challenges into value‑driven DG Grid Automation solutions.
Your daily work spans customer workshops, technical advisory sessions, solution shapingand sales and business development activities.
Acting as a trusted technical advisor, you support internally as well externally end‑to‑end across the sales lifecycle.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Support regional and global sales teams in complex Grid Automation opportunities and customer conversations
- Lead and facilitate customer workshops, requirement clarification sessions, and technical deep dives to steer and provide valuable information for the got to market and sales commercialization
- Define and shape end-to-end Grid Automation architectures aligned with customer needs and Siemens Energy standards
- Contribute to the creation of technical proposals, solution descriptions, and value-based narratives
- Grid Automation Portfolio Expertise (Digital Grid – DG GA) as well as SCADA and HMI systems knowledge for real-time grid monitoring, visualization, and control
- Advise customers on grid modernization, digital substations, and automation roadmaps
- Support customers in defining technology migration paths and scalable Grid Automation architectures
- Support the definition and execution of go-to-market strategies for Grid Automation within Digital Grid
- Represent Siemens Energy in customer meetings, executive briefings, and industry events
- Collaborate effectively within a global, matrixed organization to ensure consistent messaging and solution quality
What You Bring
- University degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Automation Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline
- Several years of experience in technical sales, pre-sales, system engineering, or consulting in grid automation or power systems
- Strong understanding of substation automation, SCADA systems, protection and control, and digital grid concepts
- Experience working with utilities, TSOs, DSOs, or industrial grid operators
- Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear and compelling customer value propositions
- Experience working in international and matrixed environments as well as excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Fluency in English; German or additional languages are an advantage
