Role overview
The Technical Program Manager coordinates delivery between Nielsen's Databricks-based Data Platform and AI/Data Engineering teams and internal and external stakeholders.
The role translates platform dependencies and constraints into plans, risk registers, and status reporting.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate Lakehouse initiatives, Agile delivery ceremonies, technical stakeholder communication, vendor alignment, and technical risk management.
- Coordinate release readiness, program reporting, platform and AI adoption, post-implementation reviews, and technical PMO tooling.
Expertise and technology
- Relevant concepts and technologies include Databricks Lakehouse, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables, Spark, and CI/CD.
- GenAI familiarity may include LangChain, vector databases, and Databricks Genie.
- Delivery tools include Jira, Confluence, and Smartsheet; relevant artifacts include burndown and velocity charts, dependency maps, and technical RAID logs.
Qualifications
- 6+ years coordinating technical programs or projects, ideally in AI/data engineering, platform, or cloud environments.
- Working knowledge of data-platform architecture sufficient to follow design discussions and ask informed questions.
- Ability to translate engineering language into business language for varied stakeholders.
