Role Overview

Requirements and Analysis

• Elicit, analyze, and document business and technical requirements.
• Write user stories and acceptance criteria for engineering teams.
• Query and profile data with SQL to validate assumptions and results.
• Document current-state and future-state processes with diagrams and maps.
• Review API contracts and data payloads with engineers.
• Support user acceptance testing and define test scenarios.

Cross-Team Liaison

• Serve as the first contact between the finance data services team and engineering, product, Finance, and Accounting teams.
• Run intake, clarify needs, assess impact, and route or scope requests.
• Represent the team in design reviews, planning sessions, and dependency discussions.
• Explain platform constraints, data models, and delivery timelines to partner teams.

Delivery and Process Support

• Support engineering managers through intake, scope, estimates, and release readiness in the SDLC.
• Track risks, issues, action items, and decisions through closure.
• Maintain and improve documentation, templates, and standard operating procedures.
• Identify process gaps and drive improvements.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person university or college is required.
• Five or more years as a business analyst, technical analyst, or product owner on software delivery teams is required.
• Independent SQL querying, including joins, aggregations, and data investigation, is required.
• Experience with requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process modeling, stakeholder liaison work, Agile delivery, and concurrent initiative tracking is required.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Experience with financial systems, data platforms, reporting, API testing, product ownership, project management, Jira, Confluence, SOX controls, or AI assistants is preferred.

Base Compensation

• Base compensation is listed as $115,000 to $149,000 annually.
