We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer with strong expertise in VMware virtualization technologies to design, implement, maintain, and optimize enterprise infrastructure environments.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in VMware solutions, Windows Server administration, storage, backup, and data center technologies, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of IT/OT systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage VMware infrastructure, including vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, and VMware Cloud solutions.
- Perform installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching of VMware environments.
- Manage virtual machine lifecycle, resource allocation, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
- Implement and maintain High Availability (HA), Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), and disaster recovery solutions.
- Administer Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file services.
- Manage enterprise backup and recovery solutions such as Veeam and other data protection platforms.
- Support storage infrastructure, including SAN, NAS, and hyper-converged environments.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across virtualization, servers, storage, and networking layers.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security using enterprise monitoring tools.
- Participate in infrastructure design, technology refresh projects, and cloud migration initiatives.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and architecture diagrams.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Participate in on-call support and incident response activities when required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 5–8+ years of experience in infrastructure and virtualization administration.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter
- VMware HA, DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion
- VMware vSAN
- VMware SRM (Site Recovery Manager) is a plus
- Strong Windows Server administration experience (2016/2019/2022).
- Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and PKI.
- Experience with enterprise backup solutions such as Veeam.
- Knowledge of storage technologies (Dell EMC, NetApp, Storage, etc.).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts including VLANs, TCP/IP, routing, and load balancing.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or hybrid cloud environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation using PowerShell.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
