Senior/Staff Data Analyst

Locations and Work Pattern

• The primary supported location is London, UK, with remote work available across Europe.
• Remote work is supported across Europe, with hybrid working encouraged near a Moonbase.
• People near the London office generally work there around two to three days per week.

Opportunity Overview

Responsibilities

• Run root-cause, opportunity-sizing, and funnel analysis and turn findings into prioritized recommendations.
• Define and maintain metric definitions and business context for stakeholders and AI tools.
• Set up launch tracking and monitoring and measure changes against KPIs.
• Build reporting, automated alerting, and root-cause analysis for unexpected KPI movements.
• Design and interpret A/B tests and quasi-experimental analyses.
• Build trusted dbt and BigQuery data models with testing, documentation, and certification.
• Create reusable AI-assisted analytics skills and communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

Must-Have Experience and Skills

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience as a data analyst or data scientist, preferably in a product-focused role.
• Advanced SQL and data visualization skills.
• Experience building data models in a modern cloud warehouse and transformation framework such as dbt with BigQuery or Snowflake.
• Strong understanding of statistics and probability, including experiment design and interpretation.
• Working understanding of payments or fintech, including fraud, chargebacks, KYC/AML, and payment success rates.
• Comfort using AI-assisted and large language model tools to accelerate analysis.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder skills, with the ability to lead projects independently.

Nice-to-Have Experience

• Familiarity with dbt, BigQuery, Looker, Python, or AI tools such as Claude Code.
• Hands-on financial crime, payments, or fraud analytics experience.
• Experience working in start-ups or scale-ups.
• Crypto-native experience with on-chain or blockchain data.
• Experience making data self-serve through semantic layers or metric stores.
