Role overview

Responsibilities

• Monitor and investigate network, endpoint, and cloud alerts; identify patterns and detection gaps.
• Declare, document, escalate, and lead investigations of complex or critical incidents; mentor junior analysts.
• Address phishing, malware, spoofing, and endpoint security incidents using EDR workflows and MDM policies.
• Review analyst cases, provide guidance and coaching, and share threat and response knowledge with the team.
• Manage shift schedules, coverage, workload, and scheduling conflicts across 24×7 operations.
• Maintain incident documentation and improve runbooks, process documents, and knowledge-base articles.
• Monitor brand impersonation, fraudulent domains, social-engineering threats, and honeytoken decoys.
• Provide feedback and track team performance, training, certifications, and career development.

Must-have qualifications

• Hands-on experience in SOC, security monitoring, incident response, or threat analysis, including complex triage, investigations, and mentoring.
• Experience investigating data exfiltration, lateral movement, privilege escalation, credential harvesting, and unauthorized cloud access.
• Advanced knowledge of networks, endpoints, IAM, SSO, MFA, and cloud environments.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, communication, documentation, analytical judgment, and ownership of SOC outcomes.
• Experience managing shift schedules, on-call rotations, or team operations.

Nice-to-have qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• At least one year of team-lead, shift-lead, or mentoring experience in security or operations.
• Okta proficiency and exposure to Google SecOps, DoControl, Code42, Cloudflare email security, CrowdStrike Falcon, or incident.io.
