Senior Solutions Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise pre-sales engagement, technical discovery, demos, validation, workshops, architecture reviews, and proofs of concept.
• Understand customer workflows and challenges, recommend solutions, and help customers modernize the software development lifecycle.
• Partner with account executives, sales leaders, customer success, and other stakeholders to support acquisition, expansion, and customer success.
• Build expertise in GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Advanced Security, GitHub Copilot, and agentic software engineering workflows.
• Explain GitHub's AI development and application security capabilities; advise on security program development.
• Contribute content to marketing events, communicate business and industry insights, identify growth opportunities, and develop strategic account plans.

Required qualifications

• At least 8 years of relevant technical consulting, technical consultative selling, or related technical, sales, or industry experience; alternatives include a relevant bachelor's degree plus 4 years, master's degree plus 2 years, a relevant doctorate, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to travel up to 40% across SAARC and wider APAC, with occasional travel elsewhere for company events.

Preferred qualifications

• 10 or more years of relevant technical consulting, technical consultative selling, or related experience.
• 3 or more years of software development focused on digital transformation and software modernization.
• 5 or more years of business consulting and customer-facing engagements, including orchestrating technical, support, and partner teams.
• 2 or more years of hands-on software engineering delivering production-ready enterprise and customer-facing applications.
• Preferred technical experience includes SDLC, DevSecOps, CI/CD, application security, platform engineering, GitHub or DevOps platforms, and AI-powered developer workflows.
• Ability to build trusted customer relationships, communicate complex technical concepts clearly, and resolve implementation blockers.

Location and work arrangement

• The role can be performed remotely from India.
• The role includes customer travel across SAARC and wider APAC.
