Role overview

Architecture and solution delivery

• Provide the infrastructure design perspective and select technologies to facilitate enterprise service integration.
• Design platform selection and sizing, data management, disaster recovery, high availability, migration, and other infrastructure requirements.
• Analyze processes, projects, and technical risks and estimate project effort where modern technology is involved and guidelines may not exist.
• Develop designs integrating business logic, processes, and data with business requirements, and guide solution delivery teams through implementation.
• Partner with business and technology teams, architecture groups, platform managers, security, risk, and engineering to meet CIBC standards.

Implementation and escalation support

• Support design issues during project implementations and help integrate products into the infrastructure on which applications will be installed.
• Act as a focal point for major technical escalations involving engineering, the Global Command Centre, Solution Centre, application and infrastructure support, vendors, and application development.

Work arrangement

• The work arrangement's proportion of onsite and remote work will be discussed at interview; the posting describes the environment as flexible.

Education and experience

• Requires a university degree and at least five years of related experience across infrastructure areas.
• Experience should cover cloud, Windows, UNIX/Solaris, Red Hat Linux, databases, systems management, security, networks, hardware, storage, system utilities, application platforms such as J2EE and .NET, and BI products such as Cognos, SAS, and Informatica.
