Role overview

Senior Software Engineer on the Weave team, building and scaling an AI observability, evaluation, and monitoring platform.

Weave supports production tracing, offline evaluations, online monitoring, and alerting for AI agents and generative AI applications.

The role is on a small, growing team and includes direct user feedback and product iteration.

Responsibilities

  • Design and ship core Weave functionality and robust, ergonomic APIs.
  • Integrate popular agent harnesses and SDKs, including Claude Code, Codex, pi.dev, and OpenAI Agents SDK.
  • Improve backend performance for low-latency, high-volume production workloads.
  • Build online LLM judges, playgrounds, evaluations, labeling, and tracing user experiences.
  • Gather user feedback and iterate on product solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Deep knowledge of Python and/or TypeScript.
  • Personal or professional experience building AI agents.
  • Ability to work through ambiguity and adapt quickly.

Preferred experience

  • Previous startup experience is a plus.
  • Experience managing large-scale online production services or OLAP databases is preferred.

Compensation

  • Base salary range is $165,000–$220,000; starting salary depends on role-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
  • The total rewards package may include discretionary bonus, equity awards, and benefits, subject to eligibility.
