  • Establish evaluation, telemetry, monitoring, and guardrails for quality and reliability.
  • Plan and run unit, integration, regression, and security testing; improve coverage through automation.
  • Lead or participate in incident response, mitigation, reviews, root-cause analysis, and reliability work.
  • Validate AI-generated engineering artifacts and promote disciplined AI-assisted development.
  • Collaborate across product, design, applied science, engineering, security, and privacy.
  • Break down complex work and deliver secure, tested, maintainable code.
  • Support deployment automation and safe rollouts with feature flags, metrics, monitoring, and rollback plans.
  • Coordinate shared components and patterns with other teams; mentor engineers and improve engineering standards.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience coding in one or more listed languages, or equivalent experience.
  • Must pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field and 6+ years of engineering experience, or bachelor's degree and 8+ years, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with AI/LLM-assisted software development and agentic systems, such as tool use, orchestration, planning, evaluation, or multi-agent patterns.
  • Experience with high-scale services, distributed systems, microservices, event-driven systems, or production observability.
  • Experience in applied science or data-driven product development, including experimentation or model evaluation.
  • Experience leading technical designs, mentoring, cross-team alignment, and improving AI or production-service quality and reliability.
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration experience.

Compensation
