• The role is based in Portugal and works remotely with quarterly visits to the London office.
• Zego teams meet in person quarterly, with an annual company gathering.

What You Will Be Doing

• Build reliable, well-tested, resilient, and observable software.
• Develop, test, deploy, and own Python microservices.
• Shape scalable and adaptable architectural decisions.
• Raise code quality through reviews and well-documented code.
• Work with engineers and Product Managers in a product team.
• Improve team practices and influence strategy.

What You Will Need

• Proven record building and maintaining backend systems and cloud microservices.
• Python experience is valued, but strong experience in another language is acceptable.
• Applied data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming fundamentals.
• Comfort with testing, debugging, refactoring, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Working knowledge of SQL and document databases.
• Independent ownership and ability to adapt as requirements evolve.
• Use AI daily, experiment quickly, and take ownership of learning AI tools.

Compensation

• Base salary ranges from €50,000 to €80,000 per year.
