Role overview
The Senior Software Engineer joins the Platform Engineering team to build and maintain platform features, frameworks, and development tools for enterprise-scale AI applications.
The work supports application development, platform scalability, and engineering productivity across the company.
Responsibilities
- Build core platform services, frameworks, and developer tools.
- Develop automation for testing, integration, deployment, and cloud infrastructure provisioning.
- Improve internal tools, developer experience, engineering workflows, release automation, code validation, and platform rule enforcement.
- Improve platform reliability, scalability, maintainability, and operational quality.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to gather requirements and deliver capabilities.
- Own features through design, documentation, implementation, testing, and maintenance; mentor engineers on standards and practices.
Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 3 years of production backend, platform, DevOps, infrastructure, or distributed systems engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and one or more of Python, Shell, or Groovy.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, build systems, release automation, and testing workflows.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform, and cloud environment provisioning or management.
- Familiarity with Go for infrastructure tooling, automation, or cloud platform development.
- Experience designing scalable platform services, frameworks, APIs, developer-facing tools, or engineering workflow systems.
- Understanding of software development principles, design patterns, testing, debugging, observability, and performance analysis.
- Systematic problem-solving, ownership, independence, operational accountability, and strong communication skills.
Compensation
- California base pay range is $145,000–$198,000 USD.
