Senior Software Engineer, Mission Software

Role Overview

Employment and Location

• This is a full-time, exempt position located in Long Beach, California.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement web applications using modern frontends and application servers that consume APIs and microservices.
• Design and implement backend systems, including data models, APIs, and supporting pipelines.
• Rapidly iterate on tooling and design new applications as the company grows.
• Influence and adopt software practices and patterns that scale to a large codebase and engineering team.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or another engineering discipline.
• 6+ years of software development or relevant industry experience.
• Experience building, shipping, and supporting complex, data-intensive full-stack software applications.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience working on ambiguous problems.
• Production DevOps experience; Docker and Kubernetes are preferred.
• Experience working with multiple programming languages.
• Experience with time series data and databases.
• Experience with CAD software and hardware engineering processes.
• Experience with API design.
• Experience with React, Vue, or similar frontend frameworks.
• Experience with Next.js, GraphQL, Node.js, OAuth, Terraform, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.

Compensation

• California base pay range is $160,000 to $227,000 USD annually.
• Compensation is calibrated to the selected candidate's experience and demonstrated capability.
