Position Summary

Join a fast-growing team as a senior backend engineer designing and building APIs for customer-facing products.

Deliver high-quality backend solutions while leading technical discussions, setting standards, and mentoring engineers.

Lead full-cycle frontend software development, advise on technical design, review code, and drive team best practices.

Consider testability, upgradeability, scalability, and observability throughout development.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, refactor, and scale backend implementations for consumer product features.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand member challenges and develop creative solutions.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve system reliability and scalability.
  • Improve and uphold high technical standards across the engineering team.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of production software development experience at scale.
  • Strong knowledge of Java and RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with one or more of JavaScript frameworks, Azure, SQL, Terraform, or GitHub.
  • Good understanding of architectural patterns for large, high-scale web applications.
  • Startup experience is an added plus.
