About the Role
Join Wise's Payin Platform team in London, which owns the layer powering how money enters Wise.
The platform connects product teams with supported payment methods including cards, digital wallets, balances, bank transfers, PISP, UPI, and direct debit.
Build shared Payin Session and Payment abstractions that scale to millions of transactions.
Platform Work
- Build payment abstractions so products can integrate a payment method once rather than repeatedly solving the same problems.
- Create high-volume, high-leverage systems where correctness, reliability, and thoughtful API design are critical.
- Work independently on customer problems and own projects end to end.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Java, Kotlin, Python, or Go.
- Strong experience with Spring, relational databases, distributed systems, concurrent systems, and Kafka.
- Experience writing testable code with unit and integration testing strategies.
- Follow coding best practices, code reviews, and open feedback.
- Communicate complex technical topics to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Use a customer-focused, data-driven product mindset.
- Improve team culture and processes.
Compensation
- Starting salary: £111K to £145K plus RSUs.
