Role overview

Generative AI engineering

• Build agentic automation platforms, including virtual field-service and support engineering capabilities.
• Develop Generative AI product features through design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Create enterprise data assistants and conversational web experiences grounded in APIs, databases, documents, and search indexes.
• Build RAG and orchestration services using tool calling and structured outputs to connect LLMs with product APIs.
• Turn conversations, documents, notes, and requests into structured tasks, with human approval and audit logging.
• Develop AI-assisted DevOps tools and integrate, evaluate, version, monitor, and roll back production LLMs.
• Improve answer quality, source accuracy, latency, safety, and cost; implement robust security, tenant separation, logging, error handling, retries, and observability.
• Develop proofs of concept and MVPs, take successful solutions to production, and contribute reusable tools and engineering patterns.

Customer delivery and collaboration

• Build customer-specific customizations and product extensions using AiDASH APIs, and support customer deployments with GIS and geospatial data corrections.
• Integrate products with customer and third-party systems and support delivered solutions in production.
• Prepare technical documentation, deployment notes, and product demonstrations for customers and internal teams.
• Partner with relevant teams to define requirements, scope solutions, deliver outcomes, and communicate technical decisions and trade-offs.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related quantitative or computing field, or equivalent education and relevant experience.
• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying production Generative AI or LLM applications.
• Strong Python and/or Java skills and experience writing maintainable, tested, production-quality code.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, or JavaScript web applications; microservices, REST APIs, multi-tenant apps, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience with AWS or equivalent cloud, containers, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and production support.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, search systems, queues, caching, enterprise software delivery, and third-party integrations.
• Clear communication and collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Additional assets

• Utility, energy, geospatial, or GIS data experience is an asset.
• Familiarity with secure enterprise AI, AI observability, or LLM evaluation frameworks is an asset.
• Experience moving AI proofs of concept into scalable production environments is an asset.

Pay range

• Expected pay range is CAD 114,750–162,000 per year, including base pay and short-term incentives.
