Relativity Space is developing the Terran R rocket and advanced manufacturing capabilities.
Horizon Manufacturing Technologies develops next-generation additive manufacturing technology for aerospace and other applications.
The team combines hardware and software disciplines, including welding, robotics, data science, and systems engineering.
Role Overview
Own backend infrastructure connecting robotics software, data platforms, machine learning, and the digital twin for the Stargate autonomous additive manufacturing platform.
Work in a cross-functional R&D environment and own projects from design through deployment.
Build software integrating edge hardware, ML inference systems, real-time process monitoring, and visualization platforms.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop user-facing applications, APIs, and CRUD services exposing data-platform capabilities.
- Create backend services integrated with data architectures to enable data consumption.
- Develop frontend interfaces for visualization, analytics, and platform management.
- Deploy and maintain software across edge and cloud environments.
- Collaborate with robotics engineers to integrate software with robotic operating systems.
- Build internal tooling to improve developer productivity and system observability.
Required Qualifications
- Have 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Have experience shipping production-quality software with real-world operational constraints.
- Independently identify, scope, design, and execute software projects.
- Understand databases, pipelines, and platforms and how software interacts with them.
- Have experience designing with non-software stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing software for robotics or additive manufacturing applications is preferred.
- Familiarity with Robot Operating System (ROS) is preferred.
- Startup or small-company experience owning software end-to-end is preferred.
Compensation
- Hiring range is $154,000 to $230,000 USD per year.
- Compensation is determined by experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
- Total rewards include salary, equity, PTO, sick leave, parental leave, and an annual learning and development stipend.
