Role Overview
Klue is hiring a Senior Software Engineer focused on DevOps and security for its engineering team.
The role makes infrastructure, CI/CD, platform engineering, and security guardrails easy for product, data, and AI engineering teams to use.
The engineer will own production infrastructure and influence IaC, GKE, CI/CD, observability, cloud costs, and compliance architecture.
What You’ll Do
- Build and extend Pulumi infrastructure components for standardized, disaster-recovery-ready GCP environments.
- Operate GKE clusters and node pools, including upgrades, in-cluster services, right-sizing, and policy enforcement.
- Own CI/CD building blocks, improve pipeline speed and reliability, and standardize the delivery path.
- Improve internal developer platform visibility and maintain reliable observability with actionable alerts and lower on-call noise.
- Drive GCP and LLM cost attribution, right-sizing, commitment planning, and resource cleanup.
- Automate software supply-chain security, infrastructure identity and access, and SOC 2 and other compliance controls.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Deep hands-on DevOps, SRE, platform, or infrastructure engineering experience with production systems and on-call responsibility.
- Deep practical Kubernetes knowledge.
- Infrastructure-as-code experience using Pulumi or Terraform.
- Strong GCP or AWS fundamentals and a background in systems engineering and software development.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines used by other engineering teams.
- Hands-on security tooling experience and automated compliance engineering for SOC 2 or enterprise security programs.
- Ability to own ambiguous problems, deliver incrementally, communicate clearly, and use AI coding tools with AI-first teams.
Preferred Experience and Stack
- Platform migrations, decommissions, internal developer platforms, self-service tooling, and LLM infrastructure experience are nice-to-haves.
- The listed technology stack includes GCP, Kubernetes, Pulumi infrastructure as code, Postgres, and Temporal.
- GitHub Actions and Buildkite are preferred CI/CD tools, while GitLab CI and CircleCI experience can transfer.
How We Work
- Klue describes an office-first model with a hybrid touch and collaboration in offices on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
- Hiring hubs include Vancouver, Toronto, and London.
Compensation
- The compensation range is CA$140,000 to CA$230,000; the posting does not state a pay cadence.
