Role Overview

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and microservices using Python and FastAPI.
• Design asynchronous task processing flows using Redis, Celery, or equivalent message queue systems.
• Own PostgreSQL schema design, migrations, and query optimization for agent state and audit data.
• Containerize services with Docker and deploy them to Kubernetes environments.
• Integrate backend services with the agent orchestration engine under the Tech Lead’s architectural direction.
• Contribute to OpenAPI contracts, versioning, and inter-service communication patterns.
• Make frontend fixes and contribute to Angular UI features.
• Lead and contribute to low-level design for components, data models, API contracts, and service internals.

System Design Expectations

• Design service components from first principles, including data models, API contracts, internal state management, and inter-service communication.
• Reason through trade-offs such as synchronous versus asynchronous processing, SQL versus NoSQL, REST versus event-driven communication, and monolith versus microservices.
• Produce and review precise low-level design artifacts, including class diagrams, sequence diagrams, and data flow descriptions.

Backend Engineering Requirements

• At least 5 years of backend or full stack software engineering experience.
• Strong Python proficiency with FastAPI or an equivalent asynchronous REST framework.
• Production PostgreSQL experience with schemas, queries, indexing, and migrations.
• Experience with Redis and Celery or an equivalent queue system.
• REST API design experience with OpenAPI, versioning, and microservice communication patterns.
• Azure DevOps CI/CD, Git, and agile sprint-based delivery experience.

Infrastructure and Frontend Requirements

• Working knowledge of Docker for containerizing Python services.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes deployments, services, config maps, and resource management.
• Angular working capability for frontend fixes, UI changes, and component debugging.
• Working-level TypeScript ability for Angular component code.
• Comfort working with LLM and agent concepts in an AI-native engineering environment.

Additional Skills

• Exposure to LangChain, LangGraph, or LLM integration is a plus.
• Experience with identity provider integration and OAuth 2.0 or OpenID Connect is a nice-to-have.
• Familiarity with API Gateway patterns such as authentication, rate limiting, and routing is a nice-to-have.
