  • Improve performance, reliability, scalability, observability, resilience, and operational efficiency.
  • Identify technical risks and dependencies, advise across teams, and act as a subject matter expert.
  • Mentor engineers through design reviews, pair programming, architecture discussions, and code reviews.
  • Partner with DevOps and Operations, lead production root-cause analysis, and improve incident recovery.
  • Champion automation and quality practices, evaluate technologies, and improve engineering processes and platform health.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience; at least six years of professional software development experience.
  • Experience building and supporting web applications, APIs, and enterprise software solutions.
  • Experience with JavaScript, Nest.js, Python services, databases, and systems integration.
  • Demonstrated delivery of production software from design through deployment and support.
  • Strong fundamentals in system design, algorithms, architecture, testing, security, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with RESTful services, software lifecycle methods, and Agile development practices.
  • Experience designing and operating applications in cloud environments; AWS is preferred.

Preferred qualifications

  • Preferred: master’s degree, legacy-application modernization, and enterprise or legacy-platform integration experience.
  • Preferred technologies and approaches include JavaScript, Nest.js, Python, SQL, ServiceNow, Git, Jira, Kafka/Pulsar, Backend-for-Frontend, Mesh of Mesh, and Spec Driven Development (Kiro).
  • Preferred: Behavior Driven Development familiarity, Agile/Scrum experience, AWS cloud-native development or migration, and relevant technical certifications.

Leadership and collaboration

  • Ability to influence technical direction without relying on authority and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and helping teams build technical capability.
  • Ability to balance speed, quality, and business priorities while delivering results.

Compensation

  • The listed annual pay range is USD 143,700–222,700; actual compensation depends on skills, experience, training, and organizational factors.
