Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend services for data ingestion, processing, and analytics
- Architect APIs and services to support analytical workflows and decision support applications
- Build and maintain data pipelines for large, heterogeneous datasets
- Ensure system reliability, performance, and security across environments
- Collaborate closely with scientists, GIS specialists, and data engineers to translate analytical requirements into production systems
- Lead code reviews, contribute to engineering standards, and mentor junior engineers
- Support deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of production systems
- Contribute to technical roadmaps and architectural decisions
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong proficiency in Python and/or Java, Go, or similar backend languages
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and backend services
- Solid understanding of databases and data storage systems (PostgreSQL, PostGIS, NoSQL)
- Experience with cloud platforms and modern deployment practices
- Experience working with data intensive or analytics driven platforms (desirable)
- Familiarity with geospatial or scientific data workflows (desirable)
- Exposure to AI/ML systems and model integration (desirable)
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (desirable)
- Background in startup or R&D focused environments (desirable)

Job Role
- A dedicated startup is being formed to industrialize and scale a secure, AI enabled, multi source decision support software offering.
- The platform is a multi sensor fusion and agentic AI solution connecting to diverse data sources (e.g., geospatial layers, imagery, video, and other operational signals).
- The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable, reliable software systems that support data intensive analytics and decision support applications.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend services for data ingestion, processing, and analytics.
- Architect APIs and services to support analytical workflows and decision support applications.
