The Role

• You’ll own the backend systems that keep the stablecoin solvent, compliant, and running.
• This spans smart contract integrations and collateral monitoring through to bank API connectivity, custody orchestration, and audit infrastructure.
• You’ll build the systems that bridge onchain collateral management with traditional banking rails as we transition to a fiat-backed model.
• What you'll build
• Collateral management engine: real-time monitoring of collateral ratios across onchain vaults and, eventually, fiat reserve accounts. Automated rebalancing triggers and alerting when ratios approach thresholds.
• Banking and payments integration layer: connect to UAE banking APIs (Wio, Mashreq, DIB) for fiat settlement, reconciliation, and reserve management. Build abstractions that handle the operational differences between crypto-native and TradFi custody.
• Custody orchestration: integrate with institutional custody providers (Fireblocks, Copper, or equivalent) for secure key management, transaction signing workflows, and multi-sig governance across hot/warm/cold wallet tiers.
• Audit and attestation infrastructure: automated proof-of-reserves reporting, reconciliation pipelines that feed external auditors, and real-time dashboards for regulatory attestation under CBUAE requirements.
• Analytics and risk monitoring: internal dashboards and data pipelines tracking mint/burn flows, reserve composition, counterparty exposure, yield performance on collateral (murabaha, sukuk, LP positions), and system health.
• Smart contract interaction layer: backend services that interface with onchain minting/burning contracts, oracle feeds, and DeFi protocol integrations for the crypto-backed collateral phase.

Requirements

• 5+ years backend engineering experience, with meaningful time spent in fintech, crypto, or payments infrastructure.
• Deep familiarity with banking/payments APIs and the operational realities of moving money programmatically (reconciliation, settlement cycles, error handling, idempotency).
• Experience integrating with institutional custody solutions (Fireblocks, Copper, BitGo, or similar).
• Strong understanding of smart contract interaction patterns: reading/writing onchain state, event indexing, transaction lifecycle management.
• Production experience with at least one of: Rust, Go, TypeScript/Node for backend services. Familiarity with Move (Aptos) or Solidity is a plus.
• Comfortable with database design (PostgreSQL), message queues, and building reliable data pipelines for financial data.
• Security-first mindset: you think about key management, access controls, and audit trails by default.

Nice To Have

• Experience with stablecoin or tokenization projects (reserve management, proof-of-reserves, mint/burn mechanics).
• Understanding of Islamic finance products (murabaha, sukuk, Sharia-compliant yield structures).
• Familiarity with UAE/MENA regulatory frameworks (CBUAE, ADGM, DFSA).
• Prior work with real-time financial monitoring or risk systems.
