Senior Software Developer in Test (Development Focused)

Role overview

Testing and automation

• Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks and scalable automation solutions.
• Develop automated functional and regression test scripts for banking applications.
• Define automation scope, oversee end-to-end delivery, and manage framework infrastructure and code repositories.
• Create test plans, execute test cases, identify risks, and champion end-to-end quality.
• Analyze test data needs and create and condition test data.

AI, reporting, and collaboration

• Use AI and machine learning for test case generation, streamlined execution, intelligent test data generation, and anomaly detection.
• Monitor and report test coverage, defect metrics, and overall application quality.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and work with teams to identify and resolve issues early.
• Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, development teams, and cross-functional partners; communicate with colleagues across Canada and worldwide.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field and 4+ years of SDET experience.
• Programming proficiency in languages such as Java, Python, Vue, Angular, Node, and Oracle; SQL for test data mining, generation, and conditioning.
• Extensive experience with Selenium, Playwright, BDD/TDD, and Cucumber framework development.
• Experience testing banking applications and knowledge of banking workflows, financial products, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins.
• Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman or SOAPUI; API development and integration of models through APIs.
• Understanding of deep learning fundamentals, RAG, and LLMs.
