Senior Quantity Surveyor

Role description

Key responsibilities

• Oversee cost planning, BOQ preparation, and cost control across projects.
• Analyze project designs and specifications and prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Monitor expenditures against budgets and produce regular cost reports for stakeholders and clients.
• Validate contractor claims and identify cost variances.
• Advise on value engineering opportunities and support contract negotiations and procurement decisions.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, finance teams, and external partners.

Qualifications and experience

• Demonstrated expertise in cost planning and cost management and maintaining accurate project budgets.
• Strong cost control and reporting skills, including expenditure tracking, forecasting, and financial summaries.
• Proficiency in BOQ preparation and measurement and compliant tender and contract documentation.
• Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor experience; logistics, transport, construction, or related infrastructure experience is ideal.
• Advanced numerical, analytical, and Excel skills; familiarity with quantity surveying or cost management software.
• Understanding of contracts, procurement processes, and regional standard forms of contract.
• Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Cost Engineering, or a related field.
• RICS or equivalent professional membership is an advantage.
