Role Overview
McFadyen Digital is seeking a Senior QA Analyst Level 1 for its team.
The role requires five to seven years of experience and excellent communication skills.
The position focuses on AI-assisted QA, Playwright automation, functional testing, responsive web testing, defect management, and cross-functional collaboration.
Core QA Responsibilities
- Use AI tools to analyze requirements, generate test scenarios, identify edge cases, generate test data, analyze defects, and improve testing efficiency.
- Validate AI-generated outputs and keep automated tests aligned with verified application behavior.
- Develop, maintain, and execute Playwright-based automated tests for functional and regression coverage.
- Translate requirements and user stories into test scenarios, test cases, and test plans.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, exploratory, and release testing.
- Test content-heavy web applications across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Validate search, navigation, content rendering, filters, editors, threads, comments, notifications, links, permissions, and other user journeys.
- Identify, reproduce, document, and track defects with clear evidence and severity.
- Work with Product and Engineering teams to resolve defects, clarify requirements, and support release readiness.
Preferred Technical Capabilities
- Experience creating or using AI-powered QA workflows or agents is preferred.
- Exposure to Playwright MCP or similar agentic testing approaches is preferred.
- API testing and browser Developer Tools experience are preferred.
- Knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python is preferred.
- Familiarity with automation frameworks, reusable components, dynamic test data, and test maintainability is preferred.
- Familiarity with Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Docker, and CI/CD concepts is preferred.
- Experience with QA metrics, quality analytics, AI or LLM testing, performance testing, Selenium, Cypress, Kubernetes, or QA dashboards is advantageous.
Required Qualifications
- Five to seven years of experience in quality assurance or software testing.
- Excellent communication skills are mandatory.
- Experience using Claude, ChatGPT, or equivalent AI assistants in QA activities.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and executing Playwright-based automated tests.
- Ability to convert requirements and engineering notes into structured test plans and cases.
- Experience with functional, integration, regression, exploratory, and release testing.
- Experience testing responsive web applications across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Ability to document and track defects with clear steps, expected versus actual results, severity, and evidence.
