Senior Python Full Stack Engineer (Django / Next.js)

The role

Platform engineering

• Own Django back ends, including design, code quality, and releases.
• Migrate legacy PHP and MySQL systems to Python and PostgreSQL module by module, with data migration, parallel running, and cutover.
• Keep live bidding responsive under peak concurrent load through profiling, query and cache improvements, push updates, and load testing.
• Build and maintain Arabic and English Next.js and React interfaces for staff consoles and public bidders.
• Design REST APIs and maintain payment, SMS one-time-code, push-notification, and real-time messaging integrations.

Quality, security, and delivery

• Establish automated tests, CI pipelines, code review, monitoring, alerting, runbooks, and documentation.
• Implement role-based access, audit trails, personal and case-data protection, and government identity single sign-on.
• Prepare and run releases under formal change control and security review.
• Onboard government entities, review development-partner deliveries, and mentor developers while planning work with the project manager.

Experience and technical requirements

• At least 6 years of professional software development, including at least 4 years of Python and Django in production.
• Strong Django REST Framework and PostgreSQL skills, including schema design, query tuning, and live-data migrations.
• Experience with Celery and RabbitMQ or Redis; React, Next.js, and TypeScript; and high-concurrency systems.
• Experience with legacy-system replacement, data migration, automated testing, CI/CD, and code review.
• Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and a major cloud platform; Google Cloud is preferred.
• Security practice covering authentication, access control, and OWASP Top 10.

Additional qualifications

• Clear written and spoken English and ability to explain technical choices to non-technical colleagues.
• Experience with payments, wallets, deposits, refunds, auctions, marketplaces, or fintech; ability to read PHP.
• Preferred: Arabic and right-to-left bilingual interfaces; government clients or security standards; mobile teams; Terraform, GitLab CI, Sentry, or Grafana; Arabic document generation, scanning, or AI vision; prior technical lead experience.
