The role designs and develops backend services and APIs and manages AWS infrastructure.
Key responsibilities
- Communicate project status and technical recommendations with client stakeholders.
- Design scalable Python, Pyramid, and AWS backend services and APIs; optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and performance.
- Manage AWS EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, S3, and IAM infrastructure.
- Define coding standards, API patterns, security practices, and testing strategies; review code and ensure production readiness.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and independently drive projects from design to deployment.
Must-have skills
- Python, JavaScript, SQL, and REST APIs; OAuth 2.0; Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
- Advanced SQL, including schema design, query optimization, and stored procedures.
- AWS EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, S3, and IAM.
- GitHub or Bitbucket, Jira, Slack or Teams; OOP, SOLID, Clean Architecture, and OWASP.
- Strong communication skills and English proficiency.
Good-to-have skills
- Pyramid, SQL Alchemy, TypeScript, VS Code, and Snowflake.
- Healthcare or clinical data experience; microservices, serverless architecture, and CI/CD.
- Six or more years of backend engineering experience.
