Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Manage timelines and cross-functional execution for embedded software projects focused on device drivers.
• Manage architectural risks inherent to low-level hardware abstraction.
• Manage dependencies where code cannot be completed or tested until silicon, prototypes, or Hardware-in-the-Loop simulators are ready.
• Define alternative timelines when custom chips or silicon samples arrive late or have physical defects.
• Manage specialized engineers, including application-layer and hardware-abstraction-layer teams.
• Combine Agile methods for iterative driver features with Waterfall milestones aligned to hardware tape-outs and manufacturing deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
• The role requires 8+ years of total experience in embedded systems, including at least 3+ years in technical leadership or project management.
• Candidates must have a proven record of designing, developing, and debugging device drivers.
• Candidates must be able to manage silicon, prototype, and Hardware-in-the-Loop dependencies.
• Candidates must be able to define alternative timelines for delayed or defective custom chips or silicon samples.
• Experience managing specialized engineering teams is required.

Preferred Credentials

• PMP or Certified Scrum Master credentials are highly preferred.
