My client is seeking an experienced
Senior Project Accountant – Construction Finance
to take ownership of project cost management, payment governance and financial controls across a growing portfolio of construction projects locally and internationally.
Coming from a building construction background, the successful candidate will be the custodian of project financial performance, overseeing budgets, protecting capital and ensuring strong financial control across all projects.
This is a business critical role focused on improving governance, accountability and preventing financial leakage.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee project budgets, variations, forecasting and cost reporting to ensure projects remain financially controlled and on budget.
- Own construction AP and payments, ensuring strong controls, compliance and payment accuracy.
- Establish and enforce robust financial controls and governance processes, ensuring consistent adoption across all projects.
- Lead project cash flow forecasting, tracking committed, paid and forecast spend to support informed decision-making.
- Drive AP performance and financial controls, promoting accountability, issue resolution and cost ownership across projects.
- Key experience:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience working within construction projects.
- Proven experience implementing strong governance and financial control processes.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with a commercial mindset focused on protecting budgets and margins.
- Must have construction sector experience.
- Professional finance qualification (ACA, CA, ACCA).
- My client is seeking a high calibre finance professional with strong project accounting experience and a deep understanding of the construction environment.

- Based full time in Abu Dhabi, you must currently live in or be prepared to relocate to Abu Dhabi.
