Senior Programme Manager - New Product Introduction (NPI)

Role overview

Working pattern

• The 4xFlex pattern is a four-day week, Monday to Thursday, with two to four days onsite depending on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement NPI processes for identifying, assessing, developing and delivering products and capabilities.
• Transform product-development governance through processes, frameworks and performance measures.
• Identify capability opportunities and product roadmaps with Business Development, Strategy, Engineering, Supply Chain and customers.
• Evaluate market opportunities, customer needs and business objectives to develop investment business cases.
• Lead teams across the NPI lifecycle from concept and feasibility to development, industrialisation and introduction into service.
• Engage stakeholders and influence senior leaders to align decisions with strategy.
• Manage risks and opportunities in new-product development and capability introduction.
• Promote innovation, continuous improvement and collaboration.

Required qualifications and experience

• Significant NPI, product-development, capability-development and programme-delivery experience in a regulated, low-volume, high-value or complex sector.
• Track record delivering products, technologies or capabilities from concept to operational deployment.
• Experience creating or transforming product-development and stage-gate governance.
• Strong commercial acumen, business-case development and cross-functional leadership without direct authority.
• Stakeholder-management experience with senior executives, customers and external partners.
• Leadership, communication and relationship-building skills; ability to drive change and balance strategy with delivery.
• The successful candidate must achieve the appropriate level of Security Check (SC) clearance.

Desired qualifications and experience

• APMP, APMPQ, MSP, PRINCE2 or equivalent programme/project management accreditation is desirable.
• Defence acquisition, capability development or product portfolio experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of NPI methods, product lifecycle management and stage-gate processes is desirable.
• Existing SC or DV clearance is desirable.
