Role Overview
The **Senior Procurement & Category Manager** is responsible for defining and executing sourcing strategies, leading category management activities, and overseeing supplier performance for specialty food products.
The role requires strong commercial judgment, a deep understanding of food procurement environments, and the ability to balance cost optimization with quality, compliance, and supply continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement **procurement and sourcing strategies** aligned with business objectives.
- Lead **category management** for food products and related materials, including portfolio rationalization and value optimization.
- Manage **supplier selection, negotiations, contracting, and performance management**.
- Design and optimize **planograms**, where applicable (retail or distribution environments).
- Drive **cost optimization initiatives** while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate closely with **supply planning, operations, and logistics teams** to ensure alignment across the value chain.
- Monitor **supplier KPIs**, supply risks, and market trends to proactively mitigate disruptions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and category management processes.
Required Qualifications
- **10–15 years of experience** in procurement and/or category management, ideally within the **food or FMCG sector**.
- Proven expertise in **strategic sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management**.
- Strong knowledge of **food regulations, quality standards, and sourcing constraints**.
- Experience in **regional and/or international sourcing** is a strong advantage.
- Excellent **analytical capabilities** and **strategic thinking**.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a complex, fast-paced environment.
