Senior Process Engineer

Role overview

Process transition and technical support

• Design operational transition strategies and define recommended ranges, safe limits, control points, and transition criteria.
• Develop initial operational decision trees and manage deviations.
• Provide technical support to clients on laboratory testing and metallurgical processes for projects.
• Support equipment commissioning on process matters, including training and review of critical variables and constraints.
• Evaluate failure modes, critical spare parts, and ramp-up inspection practices; adjust operating recommendations to performance.

Project and organizational accountabilities

• Provide cross-functional technical support and facilitate continuous improvement, process standardization, and collaboration.
• Promote safety and self-care, comply with standards and HSEQA programs, report incidents and near misses, and participate in investigations when required.
• Ensure projects meet internal governance and deliverables, track solutions using CRM codes, and maintain continuity of PIQ services.
• Build client relationships and support new business opportunities.

Education and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of process engineering experience, preferably in mining.
• At least 8 years in mining process plants, equipment, or services, including at least 2 years in plant operation.
• Proven ability to lead projects and technical teams.

Technical qualifications

• Solid knowledge of process design, simulation, and optimization.
• Experience with process simulation software such as Aspen Plus or HYSYS and CAD tools such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Proven experience in at least one of technical sales, service proposals, equipment or process engineering, or optimization consulting.

Communication and travel

• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
