Role Overview

The Senior Principal Staff Software Engineer will serve as the technical architect and cross-stack authority for an intelligent SaaS platform.

The role owns architectural vision across frontend, backend, microservices, cloud infrastructure, and engineering standards.

The position supports QAD’s Adaptive Applications and agentic AI platform for manufacturing.

Impact and Responsibilities

  • Define and govern a multi-year technical vision across the complete application lifecycle.
  • Establish design patterns, API contracts, micro-frontend and microservices blueprints, and code governance standards.
  • Conduct design reviews, author architectural decision records, resolve performance bottlenecks, and write reference code.
  • Architect frameworks supporting Adaptive Applications and agentic AI workflows.
  • Align architecture with Product Leadership, Engineering Directors, DevOps/SRE, and Senior Staff Engineers.
  • Mentor Senior Staff, Principal, and Lead Engineers across multiple feature pods.
  • Translate business strategy into an engineering roadmap and align architecture across product pillars.
  • Set technical standards for cloud-native architectures, microservices, and Agile development.

Technical Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 14+ years of hands-on software development experience.
  • 5+ years as a Technical Architect or System Architect overseeing multi-team systems.
  • Advanced mastery of React, Angular, or Vue.js, including micro-frontends, design systems, state management, and web performance.
  • Deep expertise in distributed systems, REST or GraphQL APIs, event-driven design, and Java, Node.js, Python, or Go.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, Kafka or RabbitMQ, and AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Expertise in data structures, system design, OAuth/OIDC, CI/CD automation, and high-availability design.

  • Exercise independent executive judgment when setting organization-wide methods and evaluation criteria.
  • Drive complex, multi-year solutions and influence critical company-wide technology choices.
  • Anticipate future organizational, technical, and business needs without explicit direction.
  • Rapidly assess and strategically adopt emerging technologies that create competitive advantage.

Location and Schedule

  • This is an on-site technical leadership role based in Pune.
  • The expected schedule is 3–4 days in the office per week.
