Senior Platform Infrastructure Engineer - USA Remote

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Build, automate, and operate scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure using Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform or Pulumi.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines that provide secure and consistent paths from code to production.
• Develop a self-service platform that enables data scientists and engineers to provision compute, data, and ML resources.
• Embed security, data governance, quality, compliance, observability, monitoring, alerting, and support into the platform.
• Evaluate tools, translate requirements into capabilities, mentor engineers, and drive standards, documentation, and continuous learning.

Essential Requirements

• At least 5 years of software, platform, or infrastructure engineering experience, including hands-on data and/or AI/ML infrastructure work.
• A CS or Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience is required.
• Deep hands-on expertise with at least one major cloud platform and working familiarity with multi-cloud environments and data and AI services.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, containerization or orchestration, and automation programming experience is required.
• Security and networking fundamentals plus production operations experience in monitoring, observability, incident response, and reliability are required.
• The role requires technical direction at platform scale, architecture and design leadership, standards development, and engineer mentoring.

Technical Skills

• Relevant technologies include AWS, Azure, GCP, Terraform, Pulumi, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, Python, Go, and Bash.
• The role requires secure cloud provisioning, networking, observability, incident response, reliability practices, and data or AI/ML infrastructure experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in life sciences, diagnostics, biotechnology, or partnerships with R&D, quality, clinical, manufacturing, or commercial teams is preferred.
• Experience in regulated industries, HIPAA, GxP, SOX, data governance, or matrixed environments is preferred.

Workplace and Travel

• The position is fully remote and may require travel of up to 10%.

Compensation

• The annual salary range for the role is $135,000 to $150,000.
• The position is also eligible for bonus or incentive pay.
