Senior Platform Engineer (Azure Focus)

Role overview

Platform and AI capabilities

• Architect production-ready modular Azure AI platform capabilities and define platform boundaries, service contracts, tenancy, scaling, and secure integration.
• Integrate shared AI services, including Azure OpenAI, AI Search, Document Intelligence, and agent/tool orchestration patterns.
• Standardize application consumption through APIs, SDKs, templates, and reference implementations.
• Operate AI orchestration with reusable patterns, release management, documentation, onboarding, and continuous improvement.

Infrastructure and runtime

• Create reusable Terraform modules and templates for standardized cloud resources, networking, identity, security, tagging, and observability.
• Implement policy-as-code and automated deployment validation for naming, approved SKUs, network isolation, and compliance.
• Provide self-service provisioning through GitHub Actions or platform APIs.
• Build production runtimes on AKS and Azure Container Apps for APIs, agents, MCP servers, and asynchronous workloads.
• Manage API lifecycles using Azure APIM and Kong.

Technical requirements

• At least eight years of Azure Cloud Platform experience.
• Expertise in Terraform and GitHub Actions, including modular design, automated testing, and controlled promotion.
• Familiarity with Azure AI Foundry and OpenAI Service; expert network architecture knowledge covering VNETs, peering, firewalls, and private links.
• Hands-on Azure API Management or Kong experience and ability to create cloud architectures and provide solutions architecture guidance.
• Deep hands-on expertise with AKS, Azure Container Apps, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, APIM, identity, and private networking.
• Experience with Kubernetes, containers, platform APIs, SDK design, observability, and SRE practices.
• Ability to translate security, risk, and compliance requirements into automated platform controls.
