Senior Planning Engineer

About This Role

James L Williams Middle East is looking for a Senior Planning Engineer to join our team and lead the execution of complex Data Center projects. The role is responsible for overseeing project planning, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely delivery in accordance with approved programs of work. The position involves managing planning functions across the project lifecycle within the defined scope, while ensuring compliance with company standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Review detailed project schedules and construction programs for each project.
• Prepare scope of work and BOQ in line with project requirements.
• Maintain project progress tracking and reporting formats based on the approved program, drawings, and BOQ.
• Monitor daily site progress across engineering, procurement, and construction activities, and report to the Project Manager and Planning Manager.
• Prepare detailed (micro) schedules as required.
• Prepare weekly progress reports covering engineering deliverables, procurement status, material approvals, construction progress, and commissioning activities.
• Prepare monthly progress reports in coordination with the Planning Manager.
• Track and update KPIs and report to the Project Manager.
• Record and report project variations and delays.
• Attend progress meetings and support timely project delivery.
• Identify and record all project delays, including those caused by vendors, suppliers, and sub contractors.
• Submit fortnightly and monthly reports on actual progress against the approved project schedule.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BE)
• 10 - 15 years of experience in planning and proven experience in handling Data Centre projects.
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage resources effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to plan and coordinate with Project Managers and line managers.
• Ability to analyze processes and recommend improvements.
• Strong program planning and implementation skills.
• Proficiency in Primavera.
