Senior Planning Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Review contractor baseline schedules for contract compliance, milestones, and construction sequencing; monitor progress and recommend corrective action.
• Prepare look-ahead schedules; analyze schedule risks, critical paths, constraints, delays, and project delivery impacts.
• Support EOT assessments and claims evaluation; review contractor progress reports, recovery plans, and revised schedules.
• Develop dashboards, KPI reports, earned value metrics, and schedule analyses; prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Collect and validate progress data with resident engineers, construction managers, contractors, and client representatives.
• Monitor engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning activities against schedules.
• Recommend mitigation and acceleration strategies and support project controls, risk management, forecasting, and change management.
• Participate in project meetings and workshops; ensure planning and reporting comply with contract requirements and consultant procedures.
• Review schedule impacts from design changes, variations, procurement issues, and site constraints; support closeout, commissioning, and handover planning.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in planning and controls.
• Primavera P6 capability or certification is preferred.
• Relevant experience includes programme reviews, progress monitoring, look-ahead schedules, delay analysis, EOT support, dashboards, and reporting.
