Senior Planning Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Review contractor baseline and updated programmes and support the Engineer’s consent under contract conditions and company practices.
• Develop integrated master schedules and validate resource and schedule feasibility.
• Identify schedule risks and conflicts; maintain planning trackers, logs, and risk-register inputs.
• Analyze progress updates, identify delays, slippage, and critical events, and recommend mitigation and recovery plans.
• Perform what-if and schedule impact analyses for changes, variations, and potential events.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, programme analyses, and presentations against milestones.
• Assess EOT and disruption claims using time impact and window analysis, demonstrating concurrent delay where applicable.
• Coordinate planning issues with contractors and stakeholders; attend meetings and prepare minutes.
• Maintain contemporaneous records and issue delay or slow-performance notifications when required.
• Lead and mentor planning team members as needed.

Required qualifications and skills

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or an equivalent discipline.
• At least 12 years of planning experience, including strong claims/EOT and delay analysis capability.
• Experience in construction supervision of large infrastructure projects.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency with planning tools and reporting systems, strong computer literacy, and Primavera P6 skills.
• Strong written and spoken English and excellent technical writing skills.

Desired skills

• Professional planning or scheduling certification such as PSP, PMI-SP, or similar is desired.
• Forensic planning experience in engineering consultancy or PMC environments is desired.
• UAE experience is desired.
