Role overview

Missions and main duties

• Review concrete mix designs and recommend suitable materials for engineering and construction applications.
• Assess material properties, durability, sustainability, conductivity, and resistance to environmental conditions; evaluate proposed substitutions.
• Review standards, codes, and specification changes and their impact on materials and construction practices.
• Identify non-conforming materials and workmanship, maintain quality records, and ensure corrective actions are closed.
• Provide technical support on material performance and construction issues, including failures, deviations, cracking, surface defects, settlement, and earthworks.
• Review contractor quality plans, material procedures, and test results; prepare technical reports and supplier and product evaluations.
• Develop supplier audit programs and conduct quality audits as required.
• Assess environmental impacts, including waste reduction and sustainability considerations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of experience in construction-material design, selection, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Experience on major civil, infrastructure, or heavy construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, testing methodologies, quality assurance, and relevant international standards.
• Experience reviewing concrete mix designs, earthworks materials, construction products, and compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical evaluation skills; excellent written and verbal English communication.
