Role overview

Geotechnical review and construction support

• Review investigation reports, borehole logs, soil and rock profiles, and SPT, CPT, permeability, UCS, and other test results.
• Assess alignment ground and groundwater conditions, investigation gaps, and risks for stations, tunnels, shafts, and cross passages.
• Review TBM, NATM, and cut-and-cover conditions and recommend excavation and ground support.
• Review foundation parameters, bearing capacity, settlement, piles, and contractor design calculations.
• Assess excavation support, stability, dewatering, groundwater risks, and potential impacts to nearby structures and utilities.
• Review settlement predictions, construction monitoring data, and instrumentation; recommend mitigation measures.
• Inspect construction works, verify actual ground conditions, and advise on unexpected conditions.
• Support TBM alignment and tunnelling methods, including ground treatment, grouting, and excavation parameters.
• Review technical reports, designs, method statements, contractor submissions, RFIs, and monitoring plans.
• Assess ground improvement proposals and monitor treatment effectiveness.
• Coordinate with structural, civil, tunnelling, TBM, survey, hydrology, utility, architecture, contractor, and consultant teams.
• Support compliance with specifications and standards, risk mitigation, corrective actions, and safe excavation and tunnelling.

Profile and qualifications

• B.Tech with postgraduate specialization in geotechnical engineering.
• At least 10 years of rail-related or major infrastructure project experience, including execution of related works in at least one metro project.
• Relevant experience includes geotechnical investigations and design reviews, foundations, excavation and dewatering, tunnel ground conditions, settlement monitoring, and risk assessment.
• Technical reporting, contractor method statement and calculation review, and construction completion or as-built documentation experience.
