Job Description

  • We are seeking an exceptionally experienced and strategic-minded Senior Manager - Safety, Health & Environment to join our organization in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
  • In this pivotal leadership role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety, health, and environmental programs across all operational areas.
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to creating a culture of safety excellence while ensuring full compliance with Saudi Arabian regulations and international standards.
  • You will leverage your extensive industry expertise to drive organizational transformation and establish the company as a safety and environmental leader.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain integrated safety, health, and environmental management systems and policies aligned with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements, with strategic oversight of enterprise-wide programs
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential workplace hazards and implement preventive and corrective measures across complex operational environments
  • Lead incident investigations, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence, establishing organizational learning mechanisms
  • Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian labor laws, occupational health and safety regulations, and environmental legislation, serving as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities
  • Oversee the development and delivery of comprehensive safety training programs for all organizational levels, including executive-level safety leadership development
  • Manage safety performance metrics, analyze trends, and prepare strategic reports for senior management and regulatory bodies, translating data into actionable insights
  • Conduct internal and external audits to assess compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards, and drive continuous improvement based on findings
  • Collaborate with operational teams and senior leadership to integrate safety practices into daily work processes, procedures, and organizational culture
  • Maintain and update safety documentation, records, and regulatory filings, ensuring organizational readiness for audits and inspections
  • Represent the organization in dealings with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders on safety and environmental matters, building strategic partnerships
  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety and environmental performance, championing innovation and best practices
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, health, and environmental objectives, driving accountability across the organization
  • Mentor and develop safety professionals and operational leaders, building organizational capability and succession planning
  • Provide strategic counsel to executive leadership on safety and environmental risks, opportunities, and organizational positioning

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15+ years of professional experience in safety, health, and environmental management, with at least 7 years in a senior management or leadership capacity
  • Comprehensive knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, environmental management standards, and Saudi Arabian labor laws
  • Proven expertise in developing, implementing, and managing integrated safety management systems and programs across large-scale operations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to assess complex safety and environmental issues at strategic levels
  • Extensive experience conducting risk assessments, hazard analyses, incident investigations, and root cause analysis
  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities with proven ability to influence, mentor, and motivate cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis, safety metrics interpretation, and performance indicator management
  • Fluent communication and presentation skills in English; Arabic language skills are preferred
  • Advanced experience with safety management software, tools, and digital compliance platforms
  • Certification in ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems) or ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems)
  • Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent recognized safety qualifications
  • Demonstrated expertise in audit and compliance management with regulatory bodies
  • Advanced knowledge of process safety management, emergency response planning, and business continuity
  • Proven track record in developing and delivering comprehensive training programs and building safety culture
  • Experience managing safety programs in complex, multi-site, or international operational environments
