About ASX

ASX operates critical market infrastructure and financial markets, with enterprise risk and compliance activity managed across the organization.

The Enterprise Risk and Compliance team sits within the second-line Risk division; its advisory function maintains enterprise frameworks, policies, risk culture, and capability.

Role overview

The role drives the Risk and Compliance Frameworks agenda and supports continuous improvement of ASX's enterprise risk and compliance maturity.

The position provides senior leadership through influence, collaboration, and constructive challenge.

Responsibilities

  • Turn strategy into practical direction, identify better ways of working, set priorities, and help resolve delivery risks.
  • Support colleagues and promote inclusive ways of working, risk awareness, and accountability.
  • Implement risk and compliance frameworks, including Risk Culture and Code of Conduct, using governance best practices.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise risk and compliance policies and procedures, including related training and change management.
  • Analyze and report on framework effectiveness, develop insights, and support Compliance Management Framework implementation and regulatory change monitoring.
  • Measure the Risk Appetite Statement and mitigating actions, and assess and monitor enterprise non-financial risk profiles and Line 2 risk classes.
  • Support Board and Committee reporting with insights, themes, and recommendations, and conduct enterprise monitoring of relevant policies and procedures.

Required experience and qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification, such as risk management, compliance, law, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of risk management and/or regulatory compliance experience, including enterprise risk strategy work in complex financial services organizations.
  • Senior expertise in risk frameworks and tools, enterprise non-financial risk, and advice or challenge across financial markets, project delivery, and regulatory remediation.
  • Experience with committees and governance forums, operational risk improvement, and influencing risk culture through clear communication.
  • Strong facilitation, influencing, negotiation, and stakeholder relationship skills.

Desirable experience

  • Legal expertise in financial or similar industry, enterprise-wide risk transformation experience, and experience across the three lines of defence or Enterprise Risk Management Framework elements are desirable.
