Role overview

Capital and infrastructure procurement

• Source, evaluate, and negotiate quotations for shipping containers and fabrication vendors.
• Manage electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and drainage packages for container-based and conventional builds.
• Compare technical and commercial quotations, coordinate specifications, and negotiate commercial terms through delivery and handover.

Indoor-farming procurement

• Manage recurring procurement of seeds, growing substrate, trays, nutrient solutions, and other consumables.
• Establish supplier framework agreements and maintain stock levels and reorder triggers.
• Vet suppliers for quality, food-safety compliance, and traceability under FSSC 22000 requirements.

IT and IoT hardware

• Coordinate sourcing of IT hardware, IoT sensors, controllers, and monitoring equipment with Xantory.
• Evaluate hardware compatibility, warranty terms, and total cost of ownership.

Vendor and contract management

• Maintain a qualified vendor database across infrastructure, raw materials, and IT/IoT categories.
• Run RFQ/RFP processes, score bids, and present award recommendations.
• Manage contracts, SLAs, framework agreements, renewals, and vendor performance reviews.

Cost control and budgeting

• Manage CAPEX and OPEX procurement budgets and track market price trends and volatility.
• Identify cost savings through bulk purchasing, supplier consolidation, and alternative sourcing.

Logistics and compliance

• Coordinate international freight, customs clearance, import documentation, and cargo or transport insurance.
• Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, VAT treatment, FSSC 22000, and relevant certifications.

Cross-functional coordination

• Align procurement timelines with construction and commissioning schedules alongside factory, project, engineering, and site teams.
• Provide current vendor pricing for financial modelling and feasibility work.
• Maintain clear procurement documentation.

Requirements

• Ability to own end-to-end sourcing and purchasing across infrastructure, operational consumables, and IT/IoT hardware.
• Ability to run competitive vendor bids and negotiate complex technical, multi-supplier contracts.
• Ability to evaluate suppliers for quality, food-safety compliance, and traceability in line with FSSC 22000 requirements.
• Knowledge of UAE regulatory requirements, VAT treatment, and relevant certifications.
• Ability to coordinate international freight, customs clearance, and import documentation.
• Ability to manage procurement budgets across CAPEX and OPEX categories.
