The Group Senior Manager, ERP & Process Excellence owns standardization and harmonization of finance processes across the group.
The role is the process-template guardian and functional authority for ERP configuration and design.
The role works with ERP vendors, consultants, country teams, internal IT, and corporate functions including Finance, Procurement, IT, HR, Risk & Compliance, Audit, and Business Controls.
Process standardization and ownership
- Design and own the group finance template across R2R, P2P, O2C, A2R, Treasury to Bank, and Tax processes.
- Maintain process flows, SOPs, RACI matrices, and control frameworks; enforce standardization and best practices while limiting unnecessary customization.
- Govern the template throughout the program and manage change requests through formal governance.
- Map current processes across operating entities, identify gaps and variations, and align processes with reporting, financial control, and audit requirements.
Business process optimization
- Define KPIs and continuously optimize end-to-end finance processes.
- Identify ERP adoption and automation opportunities and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Ensure accurate ERP integration with other systems, monitor performance, recommend improvements, and provide functional support and troubleshooting.
ERP functional leadership
- Lead ERP Finance modules covering General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, and Expenses.
- Lead design of the Chart of Accounts, accounting field structure, close calendar, and consolidation framework.
- Translate process designs into system configurations with implementation partners and challenge decisions that undermine standardization or scalability.
- Lead SIT and UAT, ensuring tests reflect real processes across all entities.
Stakeholders, data, and governance
- Work with operating-company CFOs and finance teams on ERP deployment and process design; facilitate workshops and validation sessions.
- Liaise among Group Finance, implementation partners, ITCo, and Group IT, and contribute to change-management training, communications, and readiness.
- Define master-data standards and group reporting requirements, formats, timelines, dashboards, and process KPIs.
- Work with data migration teams to ensure accurate mapping from legacy systems to the new Chart of Accounts and data structures.
- Represent workstreams in program governance, report status, escalate risks, and contribute to phased rollout and replication.
- Manage a small team of functional analysts and process specialists, providing direction, quality oversight, and development support.
Competencies and requirements
- Professional accounting qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
- At least 8 years of post-qualification finance experience, including 5 years in process design, ERP implementation, or finance transformation.
- Functional lead experience on at least one full-cycle ERP implementation.
- Deep knowledge of R2R, P2P, O2C, and Treasury processes; experience with multi-country, multi-currency groups.
- Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, analytical, and structured-thinking skills; able to produce clear process documentation and functional specifications.
- Willingness to travel in Africa.
Reporting line
Reports to the Group Director of Finance Transformation.
