Role Description
The Senior Manager Data Quality and Governance is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai.
This role is responsible for designing and leading the organization’s data governance framework, including policies, standards, and best practices that ensure data is accurate, consistent, secure, and usable across the business.
Day-to-day responsibilities include defining and monitoring data quality metrics, overseeing data lineage and classification, and coordinating data stewardship activities with business and technology teams.
The Senior Manager will collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize data initiatives, resolve data issues, and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
This role will also guide the adoption of tools and processes for data management, provide coaching to teams on data governance principles, and prepare executive-level reporting on data quality performance and risks.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in data governance, data quality management, or data management leadership within a complex, data-driven organization.
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality dimensions, metadata management, master data management, and data lifecycle management.
- Experience working with data management and governance tools (e.g., data catalogs, data quality monitoring tools, master data solutions, or similar platforms).
- Ability to define and track data quality KPIs, perform root-cause analysis for data issues, and implement sustainable remediation plans.
- Solid knowledge of regulatory and compliance considerations related to data (such as privacy, security, and retention requirements), especially for regional or global organizations.
- Demonstrated capability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence senior stakeholders, and lead data stewardship initiatives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language.
- Experience managing or mentoring teams or leading virtual working groups focused on data quality and governance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CDMP, data governance certifications) are an advantage.
- Comfort working on-site in Dubai and engaging with diverse stakeholders in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
