Senior Legal and Compliance Counsel

About This Role

We are working with a fast-growing, international organisation undergoing a significant transformation as it strengthens its global regulatory framework and governance standards. As part of its continued international growth, the business is seeking to appoint a Senior Legal & Compliance Counsel to join its Dubai-based team.

This is a strategic, high-impact role offering broad exposure across legal, regulatory, compliance and corporate matters on an international scale. Working closely with the General Counsel and senior leadership team, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the organisation’s ongoing expansion while ensuring robust governance, compliance and risk management frameworks are maintained across multiple jurisdictions.

The position would suit a commercially minded lawyer who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and enjoys operating as a true business partner.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice across a broad range of commercial, regulatory, compliance and corporate matters
• Develop, implement and maintain compliance frameworks, policies and governance procedures aligned with international best practice
• Support regulatory engagement and ensure the organisation operates within all applicable legal and regulatory requirements
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, supplier contracts, partnership agreements and vendor documentation
• Assist with corporate governance matters, including board support, company secretarial coordination and statutory compliance obligations
• Partner closely with internal stakeholders to identify legal and regulatory risks and implement practical, commercially focused solutions
• Manage relationships with external counsel across multiple jurisdictions
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting the business internationally

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Qualified lawyer (LLB/JD or equivalent) admitted to practice in at least one jurisdiction
• Strong legal experience gained either in-house within an international business or at a recognised law firm
• Strong experience across commercial law, regulatory compliance and corporate governance
• Exposure to highly regulated sectors such as technology, digital, online platforms, fintech, or related industries is advantageous
• Commercially astute with the ability to balance legal risk against business objectives
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical and stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable operating within a dynamic, multicultural, international environment
• Adaptable, pragmatic and solutions-oriented approach
